My name is Carson Sylvan Covey. I am a Colorado native and proud of it! I have periventricular leukomalacia or PVL. This is damage to the white matter of my brain. To say it in a simpler way, I have cerebral palsy. I have been using AAC since 2005. I’m an ambassador for PRC-Saltillo. My first device was the Pathfinder from PRC and in JR High I used the ECO devices also from PRC. I have used TouchChat from Saltillo on an iPad for the last 12 years. I switched over to TouchChat because I was going to high school at the time, I wanted to do my all my schoolwork to talk in one device no pun intended. With the Eco device’s windows system itself was very hard to work. When it got bugs it slowed down the talker part. Lastly, I just graduated from the Leadership Education in the Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program. Out of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus! I’m studied Disability Rights. I am an audiology, speech and learning mentor for the Children’s Hospital Colorado as needed!
